Intercession

The watchman on the walls

If your heart burns in the secret place of prayer, come and see: the walls of the house are looking for watchmen.

What we actually do

You pray regularly for the church, the sick, the absent, the projects and the city, alone and in the intercession group, you carry the burdens entrusted to you, you hold vigils and cover services and events in prayer. You wage the spiritual battle upstream, often unseen.

  • Pray on-site 30 to 45 min before Sunday service.
  • Join a midweek prayer time, in person or online.
  • Take the prayer-wall requests and intercede each day.
  • Send a follow-up word to the person you prayed for.
  • Take turns covering events and the sick through a prayer chain.

Commitment: One time on Sunday + one midweek; a few minutes of prayer a day at home. You can start with just one slot a week.

In the footsteps of…

Moses

Exodus 17:8-13

Lifted hands that decide the battle

While Joshua fights Amalek in the valley, Moses stands on the hill with hands lifted to God — and as long as his hands are raised, Israel prevails. When his hands grow weary, Aaron and Hur hold them up until sunset, and the victory is won. The battle is won on the hilltop before it is won below: that is intercession, and it is carried together.

Epaphras

Colossians 4:12-13

Persevering struggle for specific people

Of this quiet servant Paul says something extraordinary: he is always 'wrestling in prayer for you,' that the Colossians may stand firm, mature and fully assured in all the will of God. Paul even testifies that he labors hard for them and for the neighboring churches. Away from the spotlight, Epaphras shows that intercession is work — specific, persevering, for people by name.

What it will grow in you

This ministry forms the perseverance of one who prays without discouragement, a sensitivity to what God feels, and the humility to serve unseen. It grows a deep intimacy and a compassion that weeps for others.

You develop constancy in prayer, spiritual discernment of situations and seasons, attentiveness to God's voice, and the ability to mobilize and lead others in prayer.

🗣️ Tongues🕊️ Healing Miracles💡 Interpretation🌱 Faith🔥 Prophecy👁️ Discernment

God posts watchmen who do not keep silent and seeks men to stand in the gap: "On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen… take no rest" (Isaiah 62:6) and "I sought for a man to stand in the gap before Me for the land" (Ezekiel 22:30); therefore "I urge that petitions and intercessions be made for everyone" (1 Timothy 2:1).

What serving here asks of you

Hidden perseverance

Keeping your watches and prayer lists week after week, without applause or immediate visible results: intercession is the most invisible ministry in the church.

"They should always pray and not give up." — Luke 18:1

Absolute discretion

Receiving families' intimate battles — illness, marriages, children — and carrying them to God alone: nothing leaves the group, not in conversation nor as a disguised "prayer request".

"A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret." — Proverbs 11:13

Skilled watching and leading in prayer

Praying with the Word rather than with formulas, structuring a watch or prayer chain, and leading others in focused prayer times for the church and the city.

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." — Colossians 4:2

Standing in the gap

Carrying others' burdens as your own — the visitor who never came back, the family in crisis — and staying before God for them when everyone else has moved on.

"I looked for someone among them who would… stand before me in the gap." — Ezekiel 22:30

Honestly: Intercession is hidden work: anyone seeking visibility, dramatizing in public, or unable to keep a secret is not ready; a real personal prayer life — however simple — must exist before joining a watch, because you do not join this ministry to learn to pray but to pray more.

Come and see from the inside

One conversation, one Sunday alongside the team — no commitment to start.
